Physical Education Teacher

One-of-a-kind school on the coast, near Half Moon Bay, CA, is searching for a highly-skilled, energetic and experienced part-time PE Teacher for the current, 2019-20 school year.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Part-time PE Teacher position (25-35% time)
  • Approx. 10-14 hours per week throughout the school year serving as PE Teacher for all grades (TK-8); lead twelve 45 minute mixed-grade PE classes per week plus prep time and potential other duties
  • Assist with occasional yard duty during recess and lunch
  • Complete progress reports and report cards
  • Competitive salary - will be based on qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be highly personable, and have a welcoming presence
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related degree
  • 3 or more years’ experience in teaching PE to elementary and or middle school students
  • Must have experience managing school children in outdoor activities
  • Excellent communication skills, including with parents and children, and strong organization skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Google docs required
  • Value strong relationships with each student and staff member

Music Teacher 

One-of-a-kind school on the coast, near Half Moon Bay, CA, is searching for a highly-skilled, energetic and experienced part-time Music Teacher for the current, 2019-20 school year.

  • Small School Environment: Enrollment of 55 to 60 Jr Kindergarten to 8th Grade students in four classrooms, each class composed of 2 or 3 consecutive grade levels.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Part-time Music Teacher position (approx. 20% time)
  • Approx. 8 hours per week throughout the school year serving as music teacher for all grades (TK-8); lead four 1-hour mixed-grade music classes per week plus prep time
  • Develop curriculum and cross curricular projects in collaboration with other teachers
  • Possible assistance with end of school year theatrical performance, as time/experience allows
  • Organize and manage an annual music related field trip
  • Complete progress reports and report cards
  • Competitive salary - based on qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be highly personable, and have a welcoming presence
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in music or music education (or related degree)
  • 3 or more years’ experience in teaching music to elementary and or middle school students
  • Must be an excellent musician with good keyboarding skills
  • Experience creating music curriculum and cross curricular projects
  • Experience managing or assisting with theatrical productions is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills, including with parents and children
  • Strong organization skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Google docs required; experience with music technology software preferred
  • Value strong relationships with each student and staff member
